NIEMIEC & CoMPANY is a design-build collaborative of architects, designers, educators and craftspeople who uphold the philosophy that good design is simple. Simplicity in design is the result of diligence, iteration and dialogue, making spaces and places that seem as though they belong now and that they always have. We are formally trained as architects but practice our trade through both drawing and building. We believe knowing how a space might feel is as important as knowing how to build it.
David Niemiec is a licensed architect in the state of Pennsylvania, NCARB and LEED AP certified. Dave is also a licensed General Contractor and builds many of the smaller projects N&Co engages in. He finds building a natural extension of design-thinking and fundamental to understanding how space feels, how details work and how buildings are made. It is this close connection with both sides of the built environment that differentiates N&Co from others.
Jacklynn Niemiec is a licensed architect in the state of Pennsylvania, AIA, NCARB and LEED AP certified. She is a professor of architecture at Drexel University where she teaches the foundation year design studios and coordinates the architectural representation sequence. Her creative interest and research lies in developing visual methods for understanding and representing space with the added and intangible layers of time, movement and memory. Her current creative work and inter-disciplinary research project is Variable Space.
